Our new home

Our new home

After searching, searching and searching we've finally found what we were looking for, ¡yay!
The new flat meets all the criteria we set, but one: it has only one bedroom. When we were looking for a two bedroom flat with terrace we quickly realize that, with our budget, the options were living in a dump, living far from the city centre or waiting for a miracle. We weren't happy with either of the first two options and we didn't have the time to wait for the third one to happen.

We'd almost given up when we found this flat. It's in a great area and has almost everything we wanted except the extra bedroom. We made the sacrifice and finally got:
- Central heating
- Terrace
- Near the city centre
- The rent is even a bit lower than our previous flat
- The kitchen has an oven (absolutely vital for Mick)
- It has tons of light and it's pretty quiet

It's on the top floor. The layout is pretty decent so, even if the flat is quite small, it feels rather spacious. The kitchen is tiny but I think it has potential. I love the little details the flat has, like the picture window frame, the louvre doors or the built in shelves.

The living room is not huge but it's not tiny. The bedroom has popcorn ceiling and walls (ugh) and the living room and corridor walls have another terrible texture. The bathroom doesn't have a window (big mistake) or any natural light whatsoever and the golden-silver accessories it has make me want to gouge my eyes out. I think it'll need a ton of diy and styling to make it look decent.

Our old flat had a teeny tiny bedroom with no windows, and was tucked between the living room and the main bathroom with just enough space for the Japanese bed that I hated with a passion... matched only by my hatred of the bedroom to be honest!

On the other hand, the new bedroom is big, airy and has a massive window facing the terrace. It's the kind of bedroom that can be used not only for sleeping but also to spend time in, listening to music, watching a movie on the laptop... We'll need to set up a workspace in the living room for Mick, which'll be great for both of us as I'll be able to hang out in the bedroom and we won't be together every single minute of the day(even if we love each other so very much!).

It's also lovely waking up every day with the sunlight coming through the window.

The terrace is cute. It's not massive but it's big enough to put a table for 4 and a seat to relax with a book on.

What do you think? Do you see as many possibilities as I do?
